I have to say, this book wasn’t exactly a miss, but it wasn’t a hit, either.

I had a hard time plugging on after the heroine did something really TSTL that drove the second half of the book. In the years since the murders, several families have moved into the mansion where the crime occurred, each claiming that the dead girls still ribards the house. I thought along the same lines as Nicky, wondering if the old killer was Tara’s dad or something, and he did have some involvement since he owed Vince money.
Even in a small town where no gossip goes unspoken, deep dark secrets can still find places to hide. Almost everything could have been explained away better.
Would recommend this to anyone who likes romance thrillers. And she does it again with Superstition. Turns out that it was both of them. Loved the story line and the characters! The first quarter of the book actually scared me to death and normally I don’t like scary books in any way shape or form but it was so intriguing I couldn’t put it down, even though I knew I should since I get the heebeejeebees! With his “washboard abs” and painful past, Joe is the average tortured hero, and sexy TV reporter Nicky Sullivan is his natural counterpart.
Didn’t like the narrator saying things like “Media-types,” “Official-types,”Publicity types. Please try again later. They got better as the book went on, but I came close to giving up on the book almost straight away when they came across as being so one-dimensional and almost irritating, in many ways.

One person found this helpful. Sid was the new killer, and Vince was the old killer, who also tied in with Joe’s past. The romance was also meh, because Joe deserved someone smarter and better then Nicole.
A good murder mystery with a touch of paranormal. Even in a small town where no gossip goes A complicated twisting plot, a killer on the loose, a hunky cop with a dark past, and a beautiful beach town I liked this book a lot. I have read most of her books and this one kept me guessing totally up to the end. And then the part afterwards was even more of a let-down.

If you have checked the reviews on Karen’s books, you’ll see that I’ve read all her books. It seemed like it was mainly the hero and heroine falling in love or not at times and then randomly the background characters would contribute a little entertainment to the story. And since Liv was constantly described as hugely pregnant, why the hell couldn’t Joe tell the difference between her and her sister who was always described as being so thin??
